What other organizations are you involved in? Honors Program, Holy Cross Campus Ministry, MEDLIFE, and Undergraduate Research

What do you like about being in peer health? I really enjoy that while it’s a fun and relaxed environment, we are still getting to help others and plan events that everyone can enjoy!

What’s your favorite peer health memory? My favorite memory would be going to the National BACCUS conference in Denver. We got to meet similar groups from universities all across the country!

Brittany Hanzlik

What is your major? Organizational & Relational Communication; minors in Biology & Healthcare Management

Where are you from? Stuart, NE

What other organizations are you involved in? Undergraduate Research Fellowship (URF), Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, Mortar Board Honor Society, and UNK Catholic Newman Center

What made you interested in joining peer health? I’ve always loved learning about how to live a healthy lifestyle and to be able to find an organization that allowed me to educate and promote health and wellness to my peers sounded like the right fit for me!

What do you like about being in peer health? Everything about Peer Health is awesome – the office, the people I work with, and our overall mission! I love being able to walk into our office, sit on our very comfy couch, brainstorm with my co-workers, and implement ways to make campus safe and healthy. It’s a very relaxed, fun environment to work in!

Corinne Bredthauer

What is your major? Exercise Science

Where are you from? Lincoln, NE

What other organizations are you involved in? A few youth groups – CSF, C20, and First Baptist

What made you interested in joining peer health? I really enjoy living a healthy lifestyle and would like to help others do the same.

Why should others join peer health? It’s a really great opportunity to educate others on healthy living and learn about being healthy yourself. You’ll meet other people with the same interests as you and get connected!

Evan Forney

Year in school: Sophomore

What is your major? Biology; Pre-PA

Where are you from? Bellwood, NE

What other organizations are you involved in? Health Science Club, Honors Program, MEDLIFE

What do you like about being in peer health? The environment we create is really cool, but we still get a lot done. Everyone is really friendly, too. Plus, we’re at all of the free movie nights.

What’s your favorite peer health memory? OkSOBERfest is probably my favorite memory, although there have been lots of good times!

Valeria Denman

What is your major? Family Studies; minor in Spanish

What other organizations are you involved in? Social Justice League, Sister to Sister, Family Studies Student Org.

What do you like about being in peer health? I like all of the fun events we plan like free movie nights, OkSOBERfest, and all of the other freebies we provide for students. I especially like the people I get to work with – everyone seems outgoing and are always bringing great ideas!

What’s your favorite peer health memory? When we brought out the inflatable dinosaur costume to the Student Org. Fair!

What other organizations are you involved in? I am a Resident Assistant; Health Science Club, UNK MEDLIFE, and KHOP

What made you interested in joining peer health? I was interested in joining Peer Health because I love the activities they put on and wanted to help with these events! My favorite event is the free movie nights.

Why should others join peer health? Others should join Peer Health because it’s a great way to help educate peers on ways to be healthy!

Katie Goodall

Are you involved in any other organizations and what are they? I am a Resident Assistant in CTW!

What do you like about being in peer health? I like the little family we’ve made and the activities we put on for the students!

What’s your favorite peer health memory? My favorite peer health memory is giving tickets to students at Kneeknocker Woods for OkSOBERfest, and I actually ended up going through it myself. I was super scared, but it ended up being okay because I knew some of the actors!
